Ira is widely regarded as one of the most respected figures in the New York title insurance industry. With more than 55 years of experience as a real estate attorney, Ira has been deeply involved in the title industry since 1972.

He began his career as counsel to Central Abstract Corp, before founding North Shore Abstract, Ltd. in 1980. Over nearly three decades, Ira built North Shore into a 40+ employee firm handling more than 1,500 closings annually. In 2008, North Shore merged into Fidelity National Title, where Ira served as Vice President and Counsel until 2013. That same year, Ira co-founded Core Title Services, LLC with Larry Gross and Andrew Zankel.

Today, Ira continues to bring his unmatched experience and legal expertise to his role as Executive Vice President and Counsel at Core Title Services, LLC. He earned his B.A. from Brooklyn College in 1966 and his J.D. from George Washington University National Law School in 1969. Ira is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association. For over 13 years, he also served as an adjunct professor at Hofstra University, where he taught Title Insurance.

In 2023, Ira was honored as part of the New York State Land Title Association’s inaugural “Wall of Honor,” a distinction recognizing title professionals who have made extraordinary contributions to the industry and the NYSLTA through leadership, service, and dedication.
